Abstract
This case and companion (B) case (194-017-1) describe the Boeing Company''s attempts to nurture a TQM environment throughout the company. This case deals with the methodology of process and activity analysis. Case (B) deals with the usefulness of such analysis for improving productivity. They can be used independently or as a pair. Both cases can be used to discuss a variety of related issues including process-based management, activity based costing, performance targeting, continuous improvements, lateral organizations, incentives and managing change.
