Abstract
The Eurocamp case considers a specialist camping tour operator in the summer of 1991 at a crucial stage of the company''s development. The company, the largest camping specialist, had been subject to a management buyout in November 1988 and was carrying a large amount of debt in its balance sheet which had been used to finance the buyout. The company was in need of re-financing and the financial information given indicates this need. The case also considers the wider business environment of the company in terms of the company''s origins and development, activities and operations, the product/market characteristics of the business, and the company''s competitive situation. The case allows for a full analysis of the internal and external environment and a consideration of suitable strategic options for moving the company forward.
