Abstract
This case examines how RT Orseal Valves tackled the problem of improving organisational effectiveness through a strategic planning process in the latter part of 1993. The objectives of this case are to: (i) Provide a real and up-to-date example of how strategic planning can be used; (ii) Illustrate how strategic planning can be evaluated; (iii) Demonstrate the role of strategic planning as a process to help facilitate organisational change in a highly competitive business environment; (iv) Examine key elements in managing the change process.
