Abstract
The case provides an example of managing change in a very competitive environment. It offers a model for implementing continuous improvement through developing a learning culture amongst all shareholders. The case is based on field work carried out at the Rover Learning Business (RLB). RLB is part of the Rover company, with the objective of providing a continuous learning environment for Rover Group associates and for the supplier and franchise dealer network. The case describes the process of establishing the learning company and outlines a number of stages which marked its development. There are two detailed examples - one of a training session, giving the process used to meet the production of best practice guide-lines to increase added value, a the second explains how Rover learned from Honda America and implemented change.
