Abstract

This case examines the escalation of an organizational conflict to one of the most talked about industrial crises of our time. In addition, it offers an excellent opportunity for observing the role played by specialized publications during on-going intra-organizational conflict. The company observed is Eastern Airlines from 1986-1989. The teaching objective is to increase student awareness of the role of intra-organizational communication during labor conflicts.
