Empire Plastics contains a rich source of learning opportunities specifically in project management, contract management and construction management, but also more generally in areas of organisational change, human resources management and business policy. The case is centered on a large chemical engineering project involving a client owned design consultancy and two management contractors. The case can be used to explore several issues involving human factors in project management, or could form the basis of an in-depth treatment of one or two specific topics.
