Abstract

This case is a follow-up to the case study Computerisation at Sovereign Caterers (192-016-1). The company has taken on a new hospital catering contract. Students work in consultancy teams to report on the new information systems needed and the necessary computerisation. Management issues of split sites, staffing and expansion are considered. Students have to integrate the above issues with statistical problems of predicting demand for meals and producing cash flow forecasts. Systems development includes cost benefit analysis and data modelling.
