Abstract

This case illustrates how a small/medium-sized company in a rural location interacts with its environment. The aim is to give students with little knowledge of industrial production, some insight into workings of a company''s environment. Topics highlighted are: Technology, Law, Politics, Demography, Organizational Structure, Green Issues and Economics. The case does not attempt to cover Accounting and Finance issues. It is envisaged that this case would be used on an Organisation and the Environment Module in both Engineering and Business Studies courses.
