Abstract
This case is designed as a class handout after Toshiba (A) (393-018-1). The case deals with the introduction of Toshiba management systems on the company''s Plymouth UK plant after its closure as a joint venture with Rank and re-opening as a wholly owned Toshiba subsidiary. It allows issues on single union agreements, pendulum bargaining and Japanese management practices in a non- Japanese environment to be introduced. This case is part of a series which includes Toshiba (A) (393-018-1), Fujitsu Ltd.
