Abstract
This case is part of a series (393-096-1 to 393-099-1) and presents the perspective of the Office of Thrift Supervision / Resolution Trust Corporation, the federal agencies charged with the task of resolving problems associated with insolvent thrift institutions. The OTS/RTC must decide whether to allow The First, F.A. to continue operating (management''s perspective), to liquidate the institution (Midwestern Bank''s perspective), or to recapitalize the institution under new management (Venture Capitalists'' perspective). The OTS/RTC decision must be made under political pressure from Congress. Cannot be used without the (A) case (393-096-1).
