Abstract
This case describes the evolution of Crown Communications Plc from the early 1970s to its financial crisis in 1990/91. At the end of the case the Group''s prospects are far from clear, and it is left to readers to put forward proposals for its future. The case is best used to examine the strategic development of the company and its subsequent decline within the context of the media industry. An underlying theme is turnaround, but whilst the case can be viewed and taught purely from a financial perspective, a holistic approach is recommended.
