Abstract

This case explores a business under a partnership. Two partners create a prototype, test two markets and hire several employees. The partnership becomes a nightmare for Pooh Bear as his "friend," The Shark, starts to take advantage of Pooh and plans to take over the business. Because of the high costs of the two market tests, Pooh runs out of money. Pooh caves in under the pressure, has a nervous breakdown, and gives the business to The Shark. Pooh eventually recovers and takes The Shark to court. Pooh wins the dispute and retrieves half of the business profits. The case illustrates the difficulties in starting and running a partnership between two friends who have completely different management styles. Business ethics are a paramount issue.
