This case study outlines the problems involved in the distribution of agricultural inputs to a farming community in Nigeria. Any or all of the following teaching points may be developed: the importance of forecasting in planning, forecast techniques, centralised and decentralised stock control, stock control techniques and the importance of product and service availability.
