Abstract
The case provides the opportunity to explore the ethical behaviour of a senior executive, Stanley Adams, who 'blew the whistle' on his company Hoffman-La Roche, the multinational Swiss drug manufacturer. Adams, concerned at Roche's business conduct, decides to report Roche to the European Economic Commission with whom Switzerland has a Free Trade agreement. The case also gives adequate data to examine the 'ethical' behaviour of the company. This case, an update on the author's original 'Stanley Adams', gives a brief account of the great hardship Adams and his family suffered as a result of his action, and outlines Adams' action in the European court against the EEC which led to the award to Adams of #500,000.
