Abstract

Two MBA students decided they would establish a business of their own on completion of their course. Following the interest of the prospective partners in sports and leisure, they decided to explore the possibility of exporting sports equipment. After a limited market research exercise comparing the market opportunities for a selected range of sports equipment and clothing in the USA, Canada, Holland and Belgium, the partners decided that soccer equipment in Texas would represent their biggest opportunity.
