Abstract

The paper deals with the application of systems modelling in education and training. It considers education as a system and how objectives for education and instruction may be established by a systematic review of job incumbent needs. By citing specific examples of data retrieved from given job incumbents in an engineering profession, it shows how objectives for the educational system and for training may be established. The paper was useful in a course dealing with man - machine systems - the problem of determining system objectives. It shows how objectives may be established and considers the use of jobs and tasks analysis techniques and information derived from such analysis.
