Abstract

This bachground note is to accompany the case ''Paul-Danes Limited''. The abstract of the case is as follows: The case is set in a Department store and consists of varied intray materials together with a brief setting the scene of the Company''s history. The intray materials cover management accounting, consumer law, decision making, planning, staff appraisal, training, computerisation and economic issues. Material may be added to or deleted from the original set without difficulty. As teaching material it may be used for systems and corporate management, strategic contingency role of personnel work, performance appraisal of operations in a retailing setting. It has also been used for examination purposes.
