Abstract
Ballast-Nedam has developed its own "in company management training programme", the objective of which is to increase participants'' awareness of BN''s own management philosophy. The core of the training project is a set of 12 "incident cases" which describe fictitious but realistic problem situations in which a BN manager might find himself. Incident case Z is one such case and concerns the annual staff appraisal round and the problems of obtaining the cooperation of staff in its implementation.
