Abstract

Case (B) continues from case (A) (380-013-1) with events from 1968-74 and gives the account and outcome of the operations of a major quasi government agency to move from its traditional services into more commercially adventurous activities conducted on the Crown Agents'' own account in finance, banking and property development. These led to losses of #200m and the intervention and financial support of #80m by the UK government. Case (B) develops the issues from case (A) on the role and relations, organisational objectives, behaviour and leadership style in a quasi government agency.
