Abstract
This is the principal case study of a set of five ''mini'' case studies which has been written for students taking the Business Education Council''s National Award module "Administration in Business". Appended to the case is a one year assignment programme consisting of seven "Administration in Business" assignment and two Cross Modular assignments covering the learning objectives specified by the Business Education Council. The other four case studies illustrate major learning areas relevant to the ''Pinecrafts'' programme. The common theme that links the studies is organisational change: starting up in business (Medtech Ltd - 380-032-1), planning and implementing change (Reorganisation of an Airline''s Supplies Function - 380-033-1), fixing staffing level and grades (Work Measurement and Manpower Control in the Office - 380-034-1) and computerisation (Computerisation of a Purchasing Department - 380-035-1). Exercises are appended to each case study. The Pinecrafts assignment exercises are designed so that they can be carried out by students working in groups of three or four, and the exercises that are associated with the other case studies can be tackled in the same way. *Part of Unilever Award Winning Case Series
