Abstract

The Committee of a Social Club was concerned about falling membership. A Committee member produced a discussion document in the form of a long range plan, to enable the committee to decide future policy with respect to the club in general. The case has been used to demonstrate the elements of corporate planning, and its limitations; it has been used also to develop objectives and to illustrate that any organisation can do corporate planning, no matter how small.
