Abstract

The case describes a small, weak soft drinks bottling company at the time when a new managing director arrives to initiate a turnaround effort, and gives the new MD''s initial appraisal of the situation. The case is designed for business policy and marketing management courses. The students are expected to formulate objectives for the company and to specify a programme of action that will meet those objectives. The case is useful either as an introduction to the problems of general management or as a summary case at the end of the course.
