Abstract
Alpha Displays Limited (ADL) is a fictitious #1m electronics company facing many of the problems associated with growth. It is used as the basis of a system of management situations in which progressive reinforcement of learning takes place. The system comprises a multiple stage case. Each stage is based on an actual situation and has been designed to maintain a balance between realism and the selective emphasis necessary for effective learning. Course members are involved in the situations in a variety of ways, ranging from objective external observation to role-playing as functional managers within ADL.
