Abstract
The case examines the merits of incentive schemes in use at erection sites of steam engineering plant. Questions arise between overall and targetted schemes. The case gives opportunity to discuss the characteristics of the job, as well as management assumptions and attitudes in relation to the efficiency of any particular incentive scheme.
