Abstract

The case provides data from a research investigation by essentially questionnaire methods of job satisfaction and dissatisfaction among women workers in an electrical manufacturing company. 290 women worked in the company''s wiring and assembly departments in essentially bench type technical situations. The company experienced problems of labour turnover and absenteeism among the women. The case provides an opportunity to analyse the women''s motivations and causes of job dissatisfaction, and to design a programme of management action to meet the problem.
