Abstract
A description of the merger of the science and engineering departments at ''Rivalton'' College of Further Education. Difficulties arise because of the different attitudes adopted by academic staff of the two departments. This case may be used to illustrate the management of change, effects of different management styles and the organisational climates they engender.
