Abstract
The note first discusses the functions of stockholding and then introduces the concept of Pareto analysis. Reorder levels and buffer stocks are then dealt with. This is followed by the economic batch size calculation and the impact of discounts and finite production rates on the calculation. Various types of stock control systems are then described in the final section.
