Abstract
This is the first of a four-case series (668-020-1, 668-021-1, 668-022-1 and 668-023-1). This series of cases describes the application of network analysis by a manufacturer of boilers for large power stations. Discussion may include a wide range of problems arising from the introduction of a new management technique in terms of formal organisation and human attitudes. The (A) case describes the history of the introduction of network analysis, including the original requirement by the CEGB, the training of personnel, the planning, organisation, and procedures before and after the introduction of network analysis.
