Abstract
The case describes the stores organisation of the company. There are four production stores, but records are kept in only one of them. There is a spares store where no records are kept. Great reliance is placed on the ''experience'' of the storemen. No attempt has been made to introduce modern methods of stock control. The managing director thinks that the 400,000 inventory can be reduced by 10%.
