IT must become more strategy focused--on this point IT managers and their business unit customers agree. Yet as IT organizations struggle to maintain costs, it''s often difficult to remain focused on the task of creating value for the organization as well. The Balanced Scorecard can help, says Robert Gold, by creating a shared language between IT and its business unit customers and by helping to balance cost and quality with agility and innovation.
