Abstract
As people spend more and more of their waking hours working, the boundaries between work and life become blurred. Unlike previous generations, managers and workers today are searching for meaning from the work that supersedes the rest of their lives. This article suggests ways to construct meaning around the work you perform and select companies that mirror your value system. Understanding how different types of work provide different intrinsic rewards can help managers select the appropriate career path and find their "calling."
