Abstract

Eliminating the deleterious effects of stress from the workplace is becoming a legal obligation of management. Companies are now held responsible for trying to prevent the illnesses and trauma that can result from stress on the job. Increasingly, the courts are upholding workmen''s compensation claims arising out of this issue. This article describes how managers can develop a five-step program to prevent workplace stress.
