Abstract

Readers participate in a computer-managed exercise which recreates as closely as possible the dialogue between individuals making a thoughtful analysis of a case situation. Participants give their general reaction to the events of a classic management case, ''Dashman Co'', and then record what they consider to be the factors involved in five serious problems inherent in the situation, including questions of goal setting, organization, and communication. The computerized commentary and the evaluation of the case in a subsequent article, Sequel to ''The Misfired Missive'' (70605), allow readers to view the authors'' interpretations of the case, to agree or disagree, and to evaluate their own reasoning.
