Abstract
The case describes the situation of a company with a large number of centres of operations, as a result of acquisitions and takeovers, that decides to implement SAP. It presents the problems associated with the implementation of a complex system in a distributed environment. Case (A) should be accompanied by case (B), to be handed out in class, which describes the solution eventually adopted, which leads to an improvement in the company''s competitive situation.
