Abstract

This is a French version. The case is about the implementation of a new technology (telemedicine), that is supposed to improve the quality of medical care and decrease the cost associated with unnecessary patient transportation. The case shows the difficulty of materialising such potential gains, as the implementation of a new technology is likely to encounter some resistance, and before a critical mass is reached, the economic gain is questionable. The teaching note is available in French only.
