Abstract
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc, was one of the two satellite radio providers in the US market. The company had better financial and technical backing than its only competitor, XM Radio. Certain decisions taken by the company were the cause of its setback, which allowed its competitor to gain a lead in the US market. Further, the competition for the company was compounded with the entry of new technologies such as high definition (HD) radios, Podcasting, and Internet radios. Sirius made efforts to catch up with the competition in the US market, with better marketing strategies and innovative content.
