Abstract

This is the second of a two-case series (IMD-3-1533 and IMD-3-1534). The case presents a situation where the chairman of the board thought he was on track with an expansion plan. Hidden agendas entered the boardroom though. Even worse, the chairman was not aware of them until the board needed to take a decision and voted against the project - to the big surprise of the chairman. Case (A) provides the context of the decision. Case (B) provides an explanation for the disaster.
