Abstract
The case is about the unique culture at Pixar Animation Studios. Though Pixar had a free-wheeling non-conventional culture, it was very effective - both in terms of productivity as well as for employee retention. The company had a people-centred approach quite different from the Hollywood model. The workplace was also very distinctive and so was the Pixar University. But concern about the future of this culture surfaced when Disney acquired Pixar as analysts debated whether it would be the end of the Pixar culture.
