Abstract

This two-part case is based in the situation of La Regie, the public transit system in Morocco''s capital city. The case is told from the point of view of an advisor to the country''s Ministry of Interior, who must implement a directive from the king to facilitate the establishment of private urban transit systems, at the same time finding a way for the capital city''s public transit system to continue to operate. The case poses the question of how best to deal with a bankrupt and ineffective urban public bus system and raises issues of politics, public demand and privatization.
