Abstract
A distressed corporate major like Chrysler and the appointment of its CEO, Robert Nardelli calls for a fascinating discussion detailed in the case study. This case is aimed at introducing students to explore leadership styles and apply them to a particular situation. Students are given insights into situational leadership and to the understanding that effective executives use a collection of leadership styles matching the right situation. The case discussion would also call for a role-play, where students are asked questions like, how do you view the situation? What issues surround your role? The case study helps students to understand and analyse: (1) leadership styles; (2) the portability of leadership skills; (3) execution - the discipline of getting things done; (4) CEOs on leading change during turnarounds; and (5) situational leadership.
