Abstract
This case study introduces a B2B (business to business) exchange operator and the evolution of its on-line trading community. As an application service provider (ASP), CrimsonLogic facilitates B2B procurement for direct materials in the high-tech industry in southeast Asia. The case study describes three distinguishable stages in the community transformation and two types of community formation. The teaching objective of this case study shows how the public on-line trading community evolves via a B2B e-commerce operator. It helps students understand and discuss e-procurement in SCM (supply chain management) courses, ASP in information systems courses, or B2B e-commerce in e-business courses.
