Abstract

The case deals with a US based multinational corporation evaluating its exports to four Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic. The company is puzzled by highly inconsistent sales over the last five years. The student is asked to analyse both the political and economic environments to determine their impact on sales and to forecast future sales in the region. A decision to leave the market or to stay will have to be made. The case lends itself to familiarise students with the impact of the political and economic environments on international marketing.
