This case describes the in-home resort designing and construction management capability of Banyan Tree Resorts and Hotels. It describes the key players involved in the project management of building a resort from scratch and the processes involved. It also highlights how the project team manages various critical issues such as designing the resort, ensuring quality, scheduling, budgeting, managing team dynamics, being environmentally friendly and abiding government laws. This case can be used to highlight the challenges of project management such as task definition, planning control, leadership, information management and relationship management (within and outside the project team).
