Abstract
Trade unions, right from the 18th century are known for positive effects like collective bargaining of wages and social belongings. They have also been termed as crime ridden institutes by a few economists, accounting for their negative effect. In developing countries especially, they play a vital role. In countries like India, both public and private sectors are equally dominated by trade unions, which are normally affiliated or supported by political parties, and are utilised by them for their own gains. This case portrays the way in which a private limited company in South India namely Primevalve was sabotaged by politicians using a trade union to resolve their vendetta with the altruistic executive director of the organisation.
