Abstract
The dynamics of the airline industry are getting transformed significantly by the Internet. This case focuses on the impact of the Internet on LOT Polish Airlines. The Internet is not only influencing how LOT is being required to interact with the external environment (for example, manage the new sales channel of the Internet) but is also changing the internet organisational systems and structures of LOT (for example, building in organisational agility for rapid response). The case can be used to discuss issues related to: (a) the business impact of the Internet, with a specific focus on the airlines sector; (b) the transformation of the business model of the airlines sector caused by the Internet; and (c) the required organisational response to compete successfully in the new environment.
