Abstract
This case discusses the sustainability initiatives of Australia's leading retail chain Woolworths Limited and its impact on the internal and external environment of the company. It provides details of the activities undertaken by Woolworths' management and employees to contribute to the benefit of the society and the community in which the company operates. The case also discusses the active role played by Woolworths in combating global warming and climate change. The case highlights criticisms against Woolworths as well. Critics pointed out some of its questionable practices and contended that as the leading retailer in Australia, Woolworths should be more responsible.
