Abstract
This is part of a five-case series (396-007-1 and 396-008-1, 396-052-1 to 396-054-1). The case presents some of the tensions which existed within the organisation at the time of the strategic changes described in ''Heineken NV'' (396-007-1). The rest of the cases in the series will follow shortly. Teaching objective is to further students'' understanding of business issues and problems encountered in managing global corporations.
