Abstract
This is part of a case series. John Varley has accepted the role of CEO. Now the question is how to proceed. Three issues are on his mind; (1) the transparency of the business to the local community and beyond; (2) the creation of a 'fourth estate' to earn revenue by developing real estate beyond the existing lands; and (3) to find ways to earn more revenue from the existing estate.
