Abstract

Meant for 'Scales of Measurement', this case presents Raghu's analysis dilemma, the Owner-Manager of Matrix canteen, which sells various fast food items and beverages. Over the last few months however, he had witnessed a steady drop in beverage sales. Based on his experience, he took all possible measures, however, sales did not improve. Ramesh, Raghu's friend, advised him to do an analysis of the buying habits and spending patterns of customers. Raghu is confused about how he should go about getting the required data that would help him find answers to his dilemma and the relationship between: (1) age and gender; (2) impressions on the service offered by canteen employees; (3) preference for beverages; and (4) the amount spent on drinks.
