Abstract

This case is designated for practical assistance in the study of the Strategic Management course for business students. On the basis of the materials set out in the case, students may master the use of the instruments of strategic analysis and choice of a competitive strategy for a firm. For study purposes, a hi-tech manufacturing firm of average size was chosen that has been successfully operating on the Russian market over the course of twenty years and that has attained a leading position in its industry (the development and manufacture of electronic scales). The main problem being studied during the examination of the case materials is the choice of a correct strategy to win and maintain a competitive advantage.
